USA Weightlifting Level 1
Growing up, I wasn’t your typical athletic kid. I didn’t play sports in school or spend much time training. It was after high school and experiencing my 1st divorce I wanted to find a way to find myself again. That’s where I found my way into sports and never looked back. That decision completely changed how I saw myself and what I was capable of. Over time, I joined a co-ed softball team, played for a soccer team, earned my first stripe on my white belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and even trained in MMA/boxing. Each experience taught me something new about movement, discipline, and teamwork. Then in 2013, I was introduced to CrossFit — and that’s where everything clicked. I’d always heard how intense it was, so I decided to lean into the challenge and make the uncomfortable, comfortable. I instantly fell in love with the classes, but once I tried the barbell class, I was hooked. From there, I shifted my focus to Olympic Weightlifting, joining a dedicated gym to refine my technique, level up my lifts, and even compete in an in-house meet. As I spent more time training and learning, I realized that what I loved most wasn’t just hitting new PRs — it was understanding why good movement matters and helping others experience those same moments. That passion led me to pursue my USAW Level 1 Certification and start coaching. Coaching quickly became more than just a role — it became my purpose for me to grow as an individual from a coaching standpoint. I wanted to create the same supportive, motivating environment that helped me grow as an athlete. Whether it’s teaching someone their first snatch or refining the technique of an experienced lifter, I’m all about helping athletes move with confidence, build strength through proper form, and find joy in the process.
My turning point wasn’t just discovering CrossFit or weightlifting — it was realizing that growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone and keep showing up. That’s the energy I bring to every class, every lift, and every athlete I work with. A quote that always inspires me is “if you can’t do great things, do small things in a great way”.
For me, lifting isn’t just about numbers on the bar — it’s about growth, confidence, and the thrill of pushing past limits. I’ve spent over a decade in Weightlifting, and through every snatch, clean, and jerk, I’ve learned that true strength comes from discipline, consistency, and belief in yourself. What drives me most as a coach is helping others discover that same spark. Seeing someone nail a lift for the first time, refine their technique, or break through mental barriers — that’s the fuel that keeps me motivated every day. I love creating an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and proud of their progress, no matter their starting point.
