I was born in Topeka, KS. I married my high school sweetheart, James, and followed him around the world for his military career. I attended Yavapai College (Prescott, AZ), Universidad Veritas (San Jose, Costa Rica), and Kansas State University (Manhattan, KS). I achieved my lifelong dream of becoming an Elementary Education teacher, teaching 1st and 2nd graders for five years. During that time, I was moonlighting as a Roller Derby Skater! After 4 seasons, I decided it was time for a gentler sport. I discovered the world of CrossFit at 27 years old and thus a new dream was born.
At this point in my life, I choose to live each day with as much gratitude, joy, and love as I can. In November 2021, I was diagnosed with a rare nerve condition known as Trigeminal Neuralgia. My condition causes jolting, lightning-like pain in my face (where my Trigeminal nerve is located). I have episodes where I can't eat solid food, drink liquid, speak, or touch my face because of the sudden and debilitating pain. I never let my condition stop me though! I have the best job on the planet: helping others to improve their lives through fitness and nutrition.
My passion is helping people to improve themselves and get results Sure...this happens through coaching on movements, drills, education, etc. But the thing I love the most about my job is helping people to see themselves the way that I see them: as the magnificent beings that they truly are. We are always cruelest to ourselves. So I make it my mission to help people see the beautiful truth about themselves and to help them reach heights they never imagined before.
